A motorcyclist has died after careering off a road in Sutherland.
The crash happened on the A837 near Inchnadamph at 3pm on Tuesday.
A man was riding a grey BMW R1200 towards Lochinver when he lost control and crashed.
He was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness and later died on Wednesday.
Officers closed the road for several hours while investigations were carried out.
Sergeant Donnie Mackinnon said: "Our thoughts are with the man's family and friends at this difficult time for them.
"We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the collision and would urge anyone who may have any information to come forward.
"Any information can be passed on by calling the road policing unit in Dingwall on 101.
"The road was closed until around 8.30pm to allow for an investigation at the scene and I would thank anyone affected by this for their patience and understanding."
