Climber confirmed dead after falling on Ben Nevis' Tower Ridge
Lochaber Mountain Rescue and a helicopter from Prestwick were sent to the mountain on Saturday.
A climber has died after falling on Ben Nevis, police have confirmed.
Northern Constabulary said they were notified of the incident on the country's highest mountain at 11.10am on Saturday.
Lochaber Mountain Rescue team was sent to the scene, on the mountain's Tower Ridge, and a helicopter from Prestwick was also dispatched.
At 5pm on Saturday, a Northern Constabulary spokesman said that the man was rescued from Tower Gully but had sustained fatal injuries.
The force said he is believed to have fallen around 100 metres.
Tower Ridge is one of several ridges protruding north-west from the summit plateau of Ben Nevis, which stands at 1344 metres (4409 ft).
