Harris Tweed Hebrides claims two awards at London fashion ceremony
The Shawbost-based company carried won the Business of the Year and Company of the Year awards.
Harris Tweed Hebrides is celebrating following success at the UK Fashion and Textile Awards in London.
The Shawbost-based company, which accounts for 90% of Orb-stamped production, carried off the UK Textile Business of the Year and UK Manufacturing Company of the Year.
Chief executive of Harris Tweed Hebrides Ian MacKenzie said: "This exceeded our highest expectations. To receive both of these awards is an extraordinary recognition of how much the company has achieved in the five years since we finished our first tweed".
Harris Tweed Hebrides chairman Brian Wilson said: "This is the highest accolade yet for the skills and commitment of the mill workers and weavers on which the industry is founded. We are, quite simply, Britain's premium textile company and that is where we intend to stay".
A spokeswoman for the Harris Tweed Authority said: “The Harris Tweed Authority is delighted at the news of Harris Tweed Hebrides success at the UK Fashion and Textile Awards.
