RockNess festival cancelled in 2014 'due to number of other events'
Organisers say the event will 'take a year off' because of the World Cup and return in 2015.
The organisers of RockNess have confirmed that there will be no 2014 festival.
Organisers say the the event will “take a year off” because of the World Cup and Commonwealth Games.
They added that they plan to return “bigger and better” in 2015.
A spokesman for the organisers said: “Due to the addition of a number of events alongside the World Cup and the Commonwealth Games, we’ve decided to take a year off.
“We’re using this break to make the event bigger and better than ever in 2015.”
RockNess has taken place at Clune Farm on the banks of Loch Ness near Inverness every year since 2006.
Around 30,000 people visited the festival in 2013, which featured performers including Plan B and Basement Jaxx.
