Tom MacIver died at Wade Centre Residential Home in Kingussie on Friday.
Scotland’s oldest man has died aged 106 at a care home in the Highlands.
Tom MacIver passed away at the Wade Centre Residential Home in Kingussie on Friday.
Mr MacIver was born on June 13, 1907, in Achduart in Wester Ross and went to school in Coigach.
He went on to university in Glasgow and was a teacher at Plockton High School and Kyle of Lochalsh Primary School.
Mr MacIver later worked as a further education officer.
He founded the Ross-shire branch of the Liberal Party in 1959 and was awarded an MBE for services to politics.
Mr MacIver leaves behind his sons Iain, 71, and Colin, 59, daughter, Mairi, 63, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
