River managers in Deeside say recent flooding has caused damage worth hundreds of thousands of pounds, with dozens of fishing huts destroyed.

Salmon fishing is vital to the rural economy, but access paths have been destroyed and riverbanks have been ripped from their roots.

With the salmon fishing season opening on February 2, many are still unsure what impact the recent flooding will have on the fish.

Edward Humphrey, manager of Dinnet Estate, told STV News he was still trying to assess the damage to the grounds. He said: "We're still very much in a response and recovery mode to assess the damage.

"The extent of the track erosion, the extent of the debris in places is biblical."
