Police arrested six Celtic supporters at Wednesday night's Scottish Premiership clash with Aberdeen.

One man was arrested over a sectarian breach of the peace at Pittodrie and another over an assault, while a further four men were arrested in connection with minor alcohol-related offences.

Nearly 20,000 people packed Pittodrie to watch Aberdeen win 2-1 over Celtic on Wednesday.

Police Scotland chief inspector Nick Topping said: "The match passed with no serious disruption or incident and this is testament to both the supporters home and away.

"Officers in attendance worked closely with partners and engaged with fans throughout the match.

"A small number of arrests were made, six in total, including one for a sectarian breach of the peace, an assault and four for minor drink-related offences, all within the football grounds."
