Two cars have crashed in Aberdeen city centre causing disruption during morning rush hour.

The Audi A5 and Vauxhall Signam collided on Market Street at the junction with Guild Street at around 8.20am.

Witnesses reported that the drivers’ airbags had inflated and there was smashed glass and debris all over the road.

Public transport operator First Bus diverted buses and said the stretch between Market Street and Union Street was closed for half an hour.

A police spokeswoman said that officers were at the scene while the debris was cleared.

It is not yet known whether the occupants suffered any injuries.
