Heroin and crack cocaine worth £130,000 has been seized by officers in Aberdeenshire.

Police Scotland said the haul is one of the largest drugs recoveries in the north east in recent years.

A 33-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were arrested in Peterhead following the find on Friday.

The operation was organised as part of Operation Banook, a long-running anti-drugs campaign.

Chief inspector Elaine Logue said: "We will continue in our efforts to make the north east of Scotland a hostile place to deal controlled drugs, and to ensure there is nowhere to hide.

"We continue to appeal to members of the public to report any suspicious activity by calling us on 101 or contacting Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
