Teachers and social workers in Aberdeen are being trained to spot signs that people may be becoming radicalised.

The UK Government's Prevent anti-extremism scheme is also being rolled out in Aberdeenshire and Moray, it is understood.

Islamic State (IS) fighter Ruhul Amin grew up in the Froghall area of Aberdeen before moving to Leicester with his family.

Amin said he was not radicalised in Scotland and travelled to Syria after learning about the terror group on the internet.

He appeared in an IS recruitment video before being killed in a drone strike in the city of Raqqa in August 2015.
