Three lorries have collided on the A90, shutting the road for up to four hours.

The incident happened at Fordoun in Aberdeenshire at around 1.30pm on Thursday.

One person has been airlifted to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, while another has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "The A90 has been closed southbound at Fordoun following a road traffic collision involving three HGV lorries.

"Police Scotland, ambulance and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance at the scene.

"The A90 may be closed for between three to four hours and diversions will be put in place on to the A92.

"There are no details of injuries as yet. Further updates will be available in due course."
