Workers were evacuated from a Speyside whisky distillery after a chemical leak.

Nobody is thought to have been injured in the incident at Longmorn Distillery on Monday afternoon.

The emergency services were called at around 12.45pm and firefighters wearing gas-tight suits entered the building.

A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were alerted at 12.42pm. There was a chemical leak within the plant room and the building was evacuated.

"Firefighters in gas-tight suits went into the plant room to check a valve but we don't have the full information yet."
