A charity is offering a £10,000 reward for information after the murder of a man three months ago.

Brian McKandie's body was discovered at his home in Fairview Cottages in Rothienorman, Aberdeenshire, on Saturday March 12.

Police have appealed for information about two men they believe visited the 67-year-old mechanic the previous day.

Crimestoppers is now offering a reward for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible.

Angela Parker, Crimestoppers' national manager for Scotland, said: "Brian was a quiet and gentle man who was well-known in the local community.

"His family is understandably devastated and keen to find out what happened to Brian and for those responsible for his death to face justice.

"We are offering a substantial reward and are urging anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers anonymously.

"We don't ask for any personal details, you won't have to speak to the police, and you won't have to go to court. Just tell us what you know, not who you are."

The reward will only qualify if information is passed to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or through the charity's anonymous online form.
