A 17-year-old boy killed in a road crash has been named by police.

Jordan Gibbins died when his car overturned on the A90 near Fraserburgh on Sunday morning.

The teenager, from Lonmay, was the only person in the vehicle and no other cars were involved.

The road was briefly closed while police carried out enquiries into the cause of the crash.

Sergeant Rob Warnock said: "First and foremost, my thoughts are obviously with the family and friends of this young man at this tragic time.

"I would appeal for anyone who might have seen the vehicle described in the moments leading up to the collision or has any information about the incident itself to contact police."
