Firefighters rescued a man from a car after it ploughed into a house in Aberdeenshire.

The Audi A4 became wedged in the side of the home in Plaidy in the crash at 8.30pm on Saturday.

Fire crews used hydraulic cutting gear to free a 58-year-old man after ensuring the building was safe.

Firefighters and paramedics provided first aid until an air ambulance arrived and flew him to hospital.

He is thought to be in a serious condition, while the 41-year-old man driving the car was not badly injured.
