A Stagecoach bus has crashed into the front of a hotel in Aberdeen city centre.

The vehicle collided with a canopy at the entrance to the Rox Hotel at 11.45am on Wednesday.

Nobody was injured in the crash but a section of Market Street was closed for a short time.

A Stagecoach spokeswoman said: "One of our vehicles on the Jet 727 service was involved in a collision on Market Street on Wednesday.

"Passenger safety is our priority and we are glad there were no injuries to any passengers on board the vehicle or to any other road users or pedestrians as a result of this incident.

"We are investigating the cause of this incident internally and will assist the police with any investigation."
