A woman has been cut free from her car after a four-vehicle crash near Aberdeen.

The collision happened at around 7am on Thursday on the A90 Aberdeen to Dundee road near Portlethen.

Firefighters used cutting gear to free the woman, who is not thought to be seriously hurt.

Diversions are in place.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We are in attendance at a four-vehicle road traffic collision.

"There are diversions in place at the moment while emergency services deal with one of the vehicles.

"There is a person being cut from one of the cars by the fire brigade but it isn't believed to be serious."
