A sex attack inquiry by police in Aberdeen has found no crime was committed.

An incident was reported to have taken place in the Walker Road and Grampian Lane area of Torry in the early hours of Saturday, July 30.

Detective inspector Richie Guild thanked those who helped the police while the inquiry was carried out.

He said: "We have conducted a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances and I appreciate that this reported incident has caused concern in the community.

"The cooperation and patience of the people who have been visited by our door-to-door and CCTV teams during the course of this investigation has been very much appreciated and I would like to express my thanks to them."
