A woman has been rescued from her car after it overturned in a crash with a stationary vehicle.

The silver Vauxhall Corsa overturned after the motorist crashed into a stationary Black Renault Modus in Spital Walk, Aberdeen, on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency services arrived on the scene at around 1pm, including police, ambulance services and two fire crews.

After rescuing the woman from her vehicle she was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary but is said not to be seriously hurt.

Police Scotland said: "One motorist was released from her vehicle after it collided with a stationary car.

"She was taken to hospital but with no serious injuries.

"We are now waiting for the road to be cleared."
