A £5000 reward is being offered for information after a woman was raped in a park in Aberdeen city centre.

A 21-year-old woman was the victim of the serious sexual assault in Union Terrace Gardens more than seven months ago.

The attack took place on Thursday, January 28, sometime between 3am and 4am.

The charity Crimestoppers is now offering the reward of up to £5000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

Angela Parker, of Crimestoppers, said: "This attack was on a young woman in the heart of Aberdeen.

"We are now offering a substantial reward for anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers anonymously.

"By contacting Crimestoppers, via the phone or our anonymous online form, we don't ask for any personal details, you won't have to speak to the police, and you won't have to go to court. Just tell us what you know, not who you are."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through the website.
