The family of a "much-loved" father found dead in an Aberdeen flat has paid tribute to him.

The body of Robert Reid, 26, was discovered on Arnage Place in Mastrick on Wednesday morning.

Darren Barnes, 28, has been charged with his murder and appeared in court on Friday, when he made no plea.

On Monday, Mr Reid's family said: "Robert was a much-loved husband, father, son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin to many.

"We are devastated that his children will have to grow up without their father and that his life has ended so soon.

"He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him and we would ask that we are left in private to grieve at this extremely difficult time."

Barnes is due to appear in court again at a later date.
