The condition of a two-year-old boy who fell from the window of a four-storey flat is improving.

Police investigating what caused the fall have concluded there are no suspicious circumstances.

The toddler was taken to hospital on Monday afternoon after he was discovered by paramedics in the back garden of a property in Aberdeen.

He was later transferred to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow after the incident in Balnagask Circle.

On Thursday, officers confirmed the child was no longer in a critical condition.

A spokeswoman said: "Police Scotland can confirm that the police investigation into an accident involving a two-year-old child falling from a window in the Balnagask area of Torry on Monday, October 31, 2016, has concluded there are no suspicious circumstances.

"The child remains in a stable condition within hospital in Glasgow."
