Two people have been taken to hospital after their car crashed into a wall in Aberdeenshire.

The incident happened at 12.15pm on Wednesday on Craigmarn Road in Portlethen.

A man in his 20s with head injuries and a woman with head and arm wounds are being treated at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The green Vauxhall Corsa they were travelling in has since been recovered by police.

A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: "A male in his 20s with head injuries and a young female with head and arm injuries were both conveyed to Aberdeen Royal infirmary."
