A man in a car approached two girls in a Moray town, prompting a police appeal.

The incident took place on Bremner Drive in Elgin at around 6.30pm on Saturday.

The two children raised the alarm after they were approached by the man, who was driving a black saloon car.

Officers said they were treating the report as a suspicious incident.

Sergeant Scott Brander said: "At this time there is nothing to suggest that anything untoward has happened, however we would like to trace the driver of the car to establish the exact circumstances.

"Anyone with information should contact police on 101."
