A man was left with a broken jaw after being targeted in an unprovoked attack at a train station.

The 18-year-old was assaulted at Stonehaven Railway Station in the Aberdeenshire town.

Police are seeking a man and a woman in connection with the incident, which happened shortly before midnight on Saturday.

Officer Graham Crawford said: "This appears to have been a completely unprovoked attack which has resulted in a young man being seriously injured.

"Violent behaviour will not be tolerated and I would urge anyone with information that could assist with our enquiries to contact Police as soon as possible."

The man police are seeking is believed to be in his early 20s, with a medium build and short, dark hair. He was wearing a dark blue puffy jacket, blue jeans and grey and black trainers.

The woman is thought to be in her late teens or early 20s, tall, with a slim build and long brown hair. She was wearing a beige jacket and beige knee-high boots.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101.
