The driver of a school bus that collided with a pick-up truck has been charged with careless driving.

The 47-year-old was behind the wheel of the minibus when it was involved in a crash with a Ford Ranger on the A944 near Kirkton of Skene in Aberdeenshire at 3.25pm on Monday.

There were school children from Skene Primary on board the bus at the time and an ambulance was sent to the scene as a precaution.

Nobody was seriously injured in the collision.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "A 47-year-old man has been charged in relation to careless driving following a collision involving a minibus and a red Ford Ranger vehicle on the A944 at its junction with the B9126 on Monday.

"The collision happened at around 3.25pm and there were no serious injuries."
