Thieves have stolen more than £10,000 during a break-in at a Stagecoach bus depot.

The incident happened at Aberdeen bus station in the early hours of Monday morning.

The thieves are believed to have forced access to a cash machine that drivers use to deposit their takings.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A report has been received of a theft following a break-in at a commercial premises in the Guild Street area of Aberdeen.

"It is believed a low five-figure sum of cash was taken.

"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous."
