A drug courier was caught by police with a carrier bag full of cocaine worth nearly £160,000.

Liyapa Sikazwe was a passenger in a car stopped by officers on the A90 near Stonehaven on January 29.

Police recovered a supermarket carrier bag from the vehicle containing almost two and a quarter kilos of cocaine.

Sikazwe, 20, of Logie Place, Aberdeen, admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine at the High Court in Edinburgh on Tuesday.

While under police surveillance he was seen being picked up on Portland Street before being driven to Dundee and then Glenrothes, Fife.

The car was later stopped by officers on the A90 between Dundee and Aberdeen and Sikazwe was taken to Kittybrewster police station.

Judge Lord Kinclaven deferred sentence on Sikazwe until next month and remanded him in custody.
