A man has been taken to hospital following a house fire in an Aberdeenshire village.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze on Seaview Road in Sandend, near Banff, at about 1am on Thursday.

One man is being treated at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary but he is not thought to have been seriously injured.

No other properties were affected by the fire.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "At about 1am on Thursday, we were made aware of a fire within a house at Seaview Road, Sandend.

"Four Scottish Fire and Rescue Service appliances attended the scene along with the Scottish Ambulance Service and police.

"One man has been taken to hospital in Aberdeen. His condition is not considered to be serious at this time. The fire has been extinguished and no other properties have been affected."
