The family of a Lithuanian man who died following a "disturbance" at a flat in Aberdeen say he will be "sadly missed by all who knew him".

Aleksejus Zarskus, 42, died at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on January 19, four days after police were called out to a property on King Street.

Tomas Gulbinavicius, 32, and Janis Karajevs, 30, were detained at the scene and later arrested.

They are due to appear in court in Aberdeen on Tuesday.

On Monday, Mr Zarskus' family said: "Aleksejus was a much loved twin brother and uncle to his family in Aberdeen and a cherished son and family member to his relatives in Lithuania.

"He was hard-working and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. We now request that our privacy is respected at this difficult time."

Police Scotland described the incident on King Street as "isolated".
