The driver of a tractor has been left seriously injured after his vehicle crashed off a rural road and landed in a ditch.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene at Glenbervie Road, near Drumlithie in Aberdeenshire, at around 10.15am on Sunday.

The injured man, who is 62 years old, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary under escort.

He is understood to heave been cut free from the crashed vehicle by rescuers.

Sergeant Malcolm Kinross, of the road policing unit, said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the injured gentlemen, and we are seeking the assistance of anybody who may have seen the collision or tractor prior to the collision.
