A second person has been charged with the murder of a man at a flat in Aberdeen.

Aleksejus Zarskus, 42, died at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on January 19, four days after police were called out to a property on King Street.

Tomas Gulbinavicius, 32, and Janis Karajevs, 30, were detained at the scene and later arrested.

Gulbinavicius appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday, made no plea and was released on bail.

Karajevs appeared last week and also made no plea. He was remanded in custody.

Following his death, Mr Zarskus' family said: "Aleksejus was a much loved twin brother and uncle to his family in Aberdeen and a cherished son and family member to his relatives in Lithuania.

"He was hard-working and will be sadly missed by all who knew him."

Gulbinavicius and Karajevs are both expected to appear in court again.
