A biker has been seriously injured in a collision with a car in Moray.

The crash happened on the A96 between Elgin and Inverness, near Forres, at around 6pm on Tuesday.

The biker is being treated in hospital for serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The road was shut at the Forres bypass until around 8.30pm.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "The collision involved a motorcyclist, who suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries. It happened at the Forres bypass at 6.05pm."
