A schoolboy has been charged after a YouTube video apparently showed him attacking an elderly man.

The footage is said to feature the 14-year-old boy assaulting the man outside Asda in Dyce, Aberdeen.

The video of the incident, which happened on April 26, was later removed.

Officers want to speak to the elderly man, who has yet to be traced.

Sergeant Neil McHattie from the local community policing team said: "Antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated in our communities and police will continue to work closely with our partner agencies to take robust action against anybody who takes part in it."

The boy will be reported to the Youth Justice Management Unit.

Anyone with information is asked to contact 101.
