Seven teenagers have been charged over the assault of a 17-year-old man who was attacked at a house party.

The arrests came after an incident at a house on Newtonhill Road in Newtonhill, Aberdeenshire, on Friday evening.

Two 17-year-olds, three 16-year-olds and two 15-year-olds have been arrested and charged, and will be reported to the relevant authorities, police said.

Sergeant Kevin Macdonald said: "Seven males have now been charged in relation to this disturbance.

"This was an isolated incident following a house party attended by a large number of local teenagers."
