A stalker sent revealing pictures of his victim to her family and friends as part of a two-month campaign of harassment.

Arran Adey also sent the woman an HIV testing kit and pictures of a revolver with threatening messages attached.

In another incident, the 30-year-old, currently a prisoner in HMP Perth, posted pictures of her on social media with obscene comments below it.

Adey pleaded guilty to the offences, which took place at addresses in Cupar and Dunfermline between November 2015 and January last year while he was was on bail for a previous offence.

During his campaign he sent the woman a series of texts threatening violence before distributing pictures of her in a state of undress to her friends and family.

After Thursday's guilty plea, sheriff George Way deferred sentencing until later this month to give time for social work background reports.

Adey's lawyer said she would give a full plea in mitigation at the later sentencing date.

Mr Way was made aware of a string of Adey's previous convictions, including a 2012 housebreaking incident when he admitted spying on a 20-year-old woman through her window before breaking in, tying her to a chair and threatening her with a screwdriver.

Last March, he admitted threatening to blow up a block of flats after telling police he had a pipe bomb.

In December, he assaulted his heavily pregnant girlfriend after she asked him to help wrap Christmas presents.

Adey will remain in custody until sentenced.
