Two people have been seriously injured after a one car crash near Inverurie.

At around 12.15pm on Sunday, police received a call that there had been a collision near Midmar, on the B9119.

Emergency services attended the scene where a male, 22, and female, 20, had been seriously injured.

The fire service had to cut them both free from the blue BMW M2.

They were taken by ambulance to hospital where their condition is described as serious.

Road Policing Sergeant Rob Warnock said, "I would appeal for anyone who was in the area or saw the collision to contact police.

"We are particularly looking to speak to the occupants of a silver coloured motor vehicle which was passing in the moments prior to the collision.

"The area was particularly busy with persons attending the nearby Supercar Event and I would ask anyone who has video connected to the incident to also contact Police Scotland on 101."
