An elderly woman has died in hospital after she was run over by a fish lorry outside a Lidl.

Helen Livingstone was crossing the road with her husband to catch a bus in Aberdeen when she was struck by the vehicle.

The 81-year-old was trapped underneath the lorry before being freed by firefighters during the incident on Wellington Road.

She was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after being knocked down around 10.10am on Monday.

Police confirmed the pensioner, from Altens, died in hospital on Thursday.
