A man who died in a two-car crash has been named by police.

Mark Wood, 38, from Aberdeen was involved in the crash on the B999 near Udny Station, Aberdeenshire.

At around 4.45pm on Friday, police received a report of a crash between Potterton and Pitmedden Road.

Mr Wood was driving a silver Honda Jazz.

Another male driver, aged 73, of a grey VW Golf was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Police Scotland are still appealing for witnesses and ask anyone who wants to come forward contact police on 101.
