A dog was swept out to sea as high winds battered Scotland's coast.

Coastguard teams rescued the Cockapoo following the alert at Cummingston, Moray, at 10.45am on Sunday.

Crews found the dog before pulling it to safety and returning it to its owners, who were waiting nearby at Burghead.

A coastguard spokesman said: "The UK Coastguard helicopter, which was training in the area at the time, was quickly able to locate the animal and alert the Moray inshore rescue boat based at Findhorn to its location."
