An Aberdeen man missing in Vietnam after being reportedly kidnapped by a taxi driver has been found safe.

Friends of Connor Leslie, 23, of Newtonhill, took to social media after he disappeared following a night out in Hanoi.

The Foreign Office also confirmed they were in contact with Vietnamese police after the alarm was raised.

Writing on Instagram David Andrew posted: "Connor Leslie was taken against his will by a taxi driver at roughly 2:30am (9.30pm UK) last night and has not been seen since.

"His last location was at watermark Tay ho 395 LAC long quan tay ho Hanoi, Vietnam.

"This was a photo taken of him last night. If anyone has seen him can you please get in touch."

Connor is on holiday with three friends in the Southeast Asian country.

It is understood they got out of the taxi before it sped off with Mr Leslie.

But Connor's friends have now confirmed to the Foreign Office that he has been found safe.

No details have been released about his condition or the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
