A robber threatened customers and staff at a McColl's newsagent with a blade.

The incident happened on Loirston Road in Cove Bay, Aberdeen, at 9.20pm on Wednesday.

The man escaped with more than £1000 but nobody was injured in the raid.

Police believe the occupants of a grey car passing nearby may have seen him.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Anyone who has information regarding this crime or can suggest the identities or the person responsible or witnesses sought should contact 101."

The perpetrator was white, around 6ft 1in, with an average build. He was wearing a grey jacket with a hood, blue jeans and white trainers.
