A man has been charged with careless driving and antisocial use of a vehicle at a fireworks display.

The 42-year-old is accused of driving into a crowd in Aberdeen on Sunday.

It followed a report regarding driver behaviour on Urquhart Road.

The man allegedly repeatedly bumped into people, included a couple pushing their baby in a pram, walking back from the fireworks display at Aberdeen beach on Sunday at around 8.20pm.

Enquiries continue in relation to a report of an assault.

Police constable Alan Duncan said: "I would like to thank members of the public who have assisted us with our enquiries.

"We continue to urge anyone with information relating to the assault to contact police on 101."
