A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after an alleged street attack.

Liam Thompson was arrested after two men were seriously injured on Crown Street in Aberdeen.

The 20-year-old is accused of attempted murder, assault to severe injury and assault with intent to rob.

Thompson, of Montrose, has also been charged with being in possession of a knife and vandalism.

He made no plea or declaration during the private hearing at Aberdeen Sheriff Court and was committed for further examination.

Thompson was released on bail and is expected to appear in court at a later date.
