A taxi driver has been left with a broken back after an attack on Saturday night.

He was assaulted by two men in Stobswell, Dundee, at around 9pm.

The driver suffered a broken vertebrae during the attack at the junction of Park Avenue and Morgan Street.

A Tayside Police Division spokesman said: "Police Scotland can confirm that it is investigating a serious assault which happened at the junction of Park Avenue and Morgan Street, Dundee, shortly before 9pm on Saturday.

"A taxi driver was assaulted by two persons and suffered serious back injuries as a result.

"We would like to trace two males, both about 5ft 10in and in their late teens or early 20s, one wearing a grey tracksuit and the other wearing a purple top with white writing on it."
