A fire has ripped through a house in Aberdeen.

The blaze happened on Hilton Drive between Middlefield Place and Middlefield Crescent at 7.15pm on Monday.

Around 20 firefighters tackled the flames for more than two hours while the road was closed.

The fire started in the living room of the property.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Four appliances were called.

"We used four breathing apparatus sets and two hose reel jets.

"Crews left the scene at 9.30pm."
