CCTV images of a man wanted in connection with two robberies in Aberdeen have been released.

Two shops were robbed at knifepoint by a man who made off with stolen money after threatening staff.

The first incident took place at A&C Smart on King Street at around 5.30pm on Tuesday, January 23 and the second on Saturday, January 27 at Premier Stores on Union Street.

On both occasions the man entered the premises before presenting the a knife and demanding the money.

The man police are looking to trace is described as white, 5ft 10ins and aged between 25 and 35 years .

At the time of the robberies he had facial hair.

In the first incident the man was wearing a black jacket, a dark beanie hat, dark trousers and shoes.

In the second he was wearing a dark hat, a dark snood, an orange hooded jacket, dark trousers and dark trainers.

Detective Inspector Stewart Drummond said: "Officers would like to trace the man pictured as he may be able to assist with the investigation.

"We would further ask that anyone who may have information in relation to the robberies or the man pictured contacts us as soon as possible."
