A teenager has been arrested after a number of vehicles were damaged in a car park fire.

A total of six cars suffered damage in the blaze at the Denburn car park in Aberdeen shortly after 4pm on Tuesday.

Eighteen firefighters were involved in extinguishing the fire, which was brought under control at around 5pm.

On Wednesday, police confirmed a 13-year-old boy had been arrested in relation to alleged wilful fire-raising at the car park.

A spokesman for Aberdeen City Council said the car park had been reopened following the fire, although the area affected by the blaze remained cordoned off.

No-one was injured in the fire.
