A ten-year-old boy has been charged after allegedly being caught with a knife at a school.

The incident is said to have happened at a school in Moray on Wednesday, January 31.

STV News understands the knife was found in a bin at the school.

PC Johnathan Menzies said: "We work closely alongside our partners in education to ensure our schools are safe places to learn.

"Where offences are brought to our attention we will take appropriate action."

A report will be submitted to the Youth Justice Management Unit.
