A man has been injured in a "targeted" attack in an Asda car park.

The assault happened at a store on Jesmond Drive in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, at 10pm on Sunday.

The man suffered facial injuries and was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Officers believe the attacker is 5ft 11in and stocky. He was wearing a grey tracksuit top and may have been in a red car.

Constable Tom Spencer said: "We believe this to be a targeted attack and officers would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have seen anything unusual or suspicious or has any information which may help us with our enquiries.

"In particular, we would like to trace a man who was seen in the car park area around the time as he may have information which could assist our investigation.

"CCTV enquiries are ongoing and we have identified a number of people being in the car park around this time."
